British Airways Club World
Ground flow (London)
Wheely First provides a seamless drop-off at Heathrow T5’s far-left doors, only a few steps from British Airways’ dedicated Club World check-in. The zone is spacious, well staffed, and typically clears in minutes before a swift pass through Fast Track security. From there, it’s the Galleries Club lounge - comfortable if not remarkable - and, worth noting, champagne is available but generally by request, so it’s sensible to ask.
The cabin & seat (Club Suite)
BA’s Club Suite is the airline’s modern business class: a 1-2-1 layout, sliding privacy door, direct-aisle access from every seat, and a much calmer feel than the old yin-yang cabin. New deliveries arrived with it and refits have been rolling through the long-haul fleet.
Privacy & space: The door makes a real difference once you’re settled. Plenty of space around to get comfortable.
Work & storage: Large side shelf, decent closed cubby, AC + USB power, and a crisp, large screen.
Best seats: Solo travellers → window A/K away from galley/bassinet rows. Couples → the middle pair (D/F); the divider slides up for privacy
Little details: Shoulder belt for takeoff/landing; the door can be used after the initial cabin checks per crew guidance.
Service & dining
Crew were attentive and paced, topping up champagne quickly and timing courses to sleep windows. BA’s current menu reads modern British: a well-executed main, lighter starters, and a dessert that lands as plated—no plastic nostalgia. Espresso-based coffees are better than average; good cocktail menu as well.
Sleep
Turn-down was offered proactively. Mattress topper + proper pillow (white company), fully flat bed, and a cabin that stayed quiet and dark. The suite door and higher seat walls help block aisle movement; eye mask still recommended.
Practical notes
Board with your priority group at leisure - overhead space is ample in Club Suite, so there’s no scramble
White Company amenity kit & bedding: Solid quality; ask early if you want extras (water, second pillow).
Wi-Fi: Good enough for email and light browsing; don’t plan big uploads.
Verdict
Club Suite is British Airways done right: a calm ground experience, a truly private seat with a door, and service that’s quietly efficient. It’s not the flashiest business class in the sky, but after a much needed refurbishment on the fleet, it’s a very easy “yes.”
